
Today, PA's school mask mandate was struck down by the PA Commonwealth Court, to which the State filed an appeal. Thankfully, TESD sent out an email this afternoon staying that, "at this time the masking requirement will remain in effect for TESD schools." The ruling coincides with Governor Wolf's announcement that he will let PA schools set mask rules beginning in January. Both of these developments are troubling, especially in light of the fact that new registered COVID cases were over 5,000 today alone and 1/4 of all new cases in the US are in children.
Just like we did in August, we need to contact TESD and the Chester County Health Department in support of continued mandatory masking in our schools. It is our best bet to keep our schools open and our students and community as safe as possible. Please consider emailing them today with your support:
