To Fairfield City Council,

We, the undersigned individuals of the community, strongly oppose the closure of Plus Fitness Carramar. This gym is not just a fitness facility—it is a vital part of our community, promoting health, well-being, and social connection for over 1,000 residents which reside locally in Carramar area but also in the greater Fairfield City district. For many, Plus Fitness Carramar is a place for personal growth and positive transformation, supporting their commitment to a healthier lifestyle and a better future. 

The council’s decision to shut down the gym due to unverified noise complaints and factors beyond the owners control does not reflect the best interests of the broader community. By closing the gym, the council is:

 • Taking away a safe and supportive space for people to improve their health.

 • Negatively impacting mental and physical well-being of hundreds of local members of the community who uses this facility.

 • Disregarding the greater majority in favor of a small minority that have unwarranted disturbance complaints.

 • Severely impacting a local small business in the community disregarding their on going attempts to work to a resolution. 

We urge the council to reconsider its decision and work with Plus Fitness Carramar, to find a fair solution that supports the entire community, rather than shutting down a facility that benefits so many.
