UPDATE: Persona Q2 is “M.I.A.” at the September 2026 Nintendo Direct—But We Aren’t Giving Up

Dearest Persona community,

As many of you saw, the September 9, 2026 Nintendo Direct came and went with an incredible 45-minute showcase of upcoming software. Unfortunately, our hopes of seeing a modern console and a full English dub announcement for “Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth” went unanswered. The spin-off duology is officially Missing In Action (M.I.A.).

Where is ATLUS's focus right now?

Right now, ATLUS is focusing its Persona 30th Anniversary efforts heavily on mainline entries. Lead producer Kazuhisa Wada recently confirmed that 2026 is heavily dedicated to the highly anticipated Persona 4 Revival remake, which is scheduled for a major playable showcase at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2026 later this month. Rumours also suggest they are prioritizing classic remasters of Persona 1 and 2 over the 3DS spin-offs.

Why this doesn't change our mission?

The fact that ATLUS skipped the Direct just means they are keeping their spin-off cards close to their chest. The Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection already proved that ATLUS can flawlessly port dual-screen dungeon crawlers to modern, single-screen hardware. We must keep pushing to fix the jarring double standard left by the original un-dubbed 3DS release.
