Our Statement of Purpose: This petition is in effect among the ST PAUL families, and we are in the process of getting a majority of signatures to save ST PAUL'S!
For over 75 years, St. Paul’s Lutheran School has been an irreplaceable sanctuary of academic excellence, spiritual guidance, and profound emotional healing for children in San Diego and beyond. Recent community rumors regarding a potential closure or sudden operational restructuring have caused deep concern among families, alumni, and neighbors.
We, the undersigned families, stakeholders, and community members, are writing to declare our unwavering support for St. Paul's. We urge the school and church leadership to maintain full transparency regarding the school's future, and we pledge our active support to ensure this special campus remains open for generations to come.
Why St. Paul’s is Worth Saving:
A Sanctuary for Healing and Growth: St. Paul's goes far beyond standard academics. For many children—including those navigating unexpected family tragedies and profound personal losses—this school has served as a safe haven that restores joy, builds resilience, and transforms young lives.
A Deep Legacy in Pacific Beach: Having served families for over seven decades, St. Paul’s is a foundational pillar of our community's history. Its unique environment cannot be replicated or replaced.
An Active, Committed Community: We are not passive observers. If the school is facing a modern shortage of operational funds, enrollment challenges, or budgetary constraints, the community deserves the opportunity to step in.
Our Petition Demands & Pledge:
Full Transparency: We respectfully request an official, public statement from the Church Council clarifying the current financial health, enrollment status, and long-term security of the school.
A Collaborative Solution: Before any definitive or irreversible decisions regarding closure or downscaling are considered, we request an open-forum meeting between leadership and families.
Our Pledge of Support: By signing this petition, we express our willingness to mobilize. As a community, we are ready to explore increased tuition options, organize emergency fundraising, and secure corporate sponsors to bridge any financial gaps required to keep our school alive.
