DEVELOPMENT PERMIT DP2025-04315

TO: City of Calgary Planning & Development Services, Martin Siddles File Manager for Development Permit DP2025-04315

CC: City of Calgary Council and Ward Councillor

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
We, the undersigned residents of Canyon Meadows and surrounding areas, respectfully request the City of Calgary reject Development Permit DP2025-04315 for a restaurant with a drive thru open 24/7 at 11625 Elbow Drive SW.

Our opposition is based on the following concerns:

1. Traffic Impacts- A 24/7 drive thru will further increase vehicle volume and congestion creating safety risks to drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists
2. Community Health & Safety- the site is located near various schools and daycares posing a risk to health & safety by exposing our community to excess emissions from idling vehicles and increased opportunities for loitering, vagrancy, and crime.
3. Environmental Concerns- increased litter, noise, air and light pollution, waste production, greenhouse gas emissions which are conflicting with the city’s goals of sustainability and environmental consciousness.

By signing, residents affirm their opposition to the proposed development and urge the City of Calgary to prioritize community health & safety, sustainability, and quality of life.
