In your emails it’s good to stress the following:
-CAFOs affect property value by 28 percent
-CAFOs affect ground water with pollutants and if the CAFO has a high capacity well it could cause our wells to dry up. 1 cow drinks 30-40 gallons of water a day. With 2500 cows that’s 100000 gallons of water a day. A common household uses 300 gallons a day! There has been instances in areas of CAFOs for the neighborhood wells to dry up!
-CAFOs release toxins into the air
-CAFOs impact roads with movement of feed and manure
-Changes in air quality
-Changes in groundwater and surface water quality
-Changes in land use
-Changes in the quantity and quality of nearby drinking water wells
-Damage to local roads from heavy truck traffic
-Increased odors and noise
