Thank you! for signing and supporting our neighborhood quality of life. This photo characterizes the quality of SSO work the City of Shaker Heights authorized on Lynnfield Road. This is a post-construction photo. There are many more like this. The trees they intended to save were sacrificed to the lowest bidder, Fabrizi Trucking and Paving. Now the city is guaranteeing ALL north and south trees on Lomond will die if they work in the street.
Why should we acquiesce to the work of this terrible contractor and even worse oversight by the city?
Did you know that there was only ONE other bidder on the Lynnfield/Lomond SSO project?
Was it because better firms knew it was going to cost WAY more than the bid package estimated in order to do a quality job? This project was under bid from the start which they learned once the complexities of doing this work revealed themselves, once they found that soil samples taken to guarantee the approach were NOT accurate. Who was paid to take the soil samples?
We want copies of the bid package and the contracts and have been waiting over a month. Contracts and modifications are still not forthcoming. One of our organizers made a public records request for the entire bid package and has still not received it.
We ask - how can the city guarantee that the dewatering and digging next to our homes will not destabilize our foundations? They could hardly save a tree on Lynnfield. How can they save our home foundations as they move in closer?
