2015/2016 CUSD 220 LATE START PROPOSALS BY INPUT220
Misleading Headline: There Is No Good News Yet

No, not good news yet. The newspaper heading from the Daily Herald about this past Tuesday's BOE meeting is misleading. The BOE is deciding next week for a change for next year and the year after. That's exactly the same position that was disclosed in late January. Year one small change, year two major change. We still don't have answers as to what that change will be. No options of 9 am or later has been rejected, no digital learning replacement for actual teacher face time learning has been disclosed/rejected, no block scheduling has been rejected yet, and no process as to input from all stakeholders before any change takes place in year one or two has been adopted. While one or two BOE members seemed to advocate for those things, it takes a vote of all BOE members. There were equally statements by other BOE members in favor of the drastic changes for next year. Everyone who advocates against Input220's proposals being enacted this year, or next year, needs to continue to voice their concerns. The BOE does take notice of how many show up and/or watch the meeting on line.
