LESS FACE- TO -FACE INSTRUCTION FOR GRADES 6 TO 12?

D220 HAS THE ABILITY TO CUT FACE-TO-FACE CLASS TIME FOR GRADES 6-12 TO JUST 3 HOURS A DAY. IS THIS WHAT IT INTENDS TO DO? FACTS: In 2014, D220 obtained a waiver from the School Board to exempt students for up to 2 hours of "seat" time for every 3 hours of face-to-face classroom time. That waiver was also amended so that the 2 hour wavier could apply to students in 6th grade and older. School Board Policy 6:310 allows for virtual and on-line classes to count toward graduation requirements, but "the student assumes responsibility for all fees." About one-third of students at BHS take AP courses. QUESTIONS (just a few of many): Does this mean students will have 3 hour school days at the middle school and/or high school and 2 hours of virtual/on-line classes out side the brick and mortar school building? Does this mean teacher-less classrooms run by data coaches where students receive all their instruction on-line? Does this mean we will pay twice for our children's education?
