Justice for Philando Castile

This petition had 1,364 supporters

On July 6, 2016, Philando Castile was fatally shot four times by a Roseville police officer in Minnesota. Castile was pulled over for a routine traffic stop while driving with his girlfriend and child. Diamond Reynolds was the passenger who managed to record and live stream the aftermath of the shooting. According to the video footage, Castile was shot after reaching for his personal identification - per request of the officer involved. The American public is outraged to see yet another citizen fall victim to police brutality and a corrupt law enforcement system. We are demanding answers and action! The attached petition formally requests a fully documented, nonpartisan, ethical, and thorough investigation of the Philando Castile case. This petition also requests the action of the United States Department of Justice to indict the involved police officer, as well as fight for a conviction. The public is demanding justice for Philando, change in our law enforcement system, and the end of police brutality! Please keep the friends and family of Philando, the surrounding community, Diamond Reynolds and her daughter in your thoughts and prayers. Please sign this petition and share this link! Please feel free to add your own thoughts in the comments section below. Discussion is first step to implementing change, so let us use the power of open forum to BE THE CHANGE. So I ask you, my fellow freedom fighters - how do we create a brighter tomorrow? #BLACKLIVESMATTER Thank you.
