Dear Six Flags: ABUSE OR LOSE

The Issue

Help stop the monetary greed of Six Flags from trapping endangered and vulnerable wildlife in small, crummy, and unnatural living quarters!

Recently, my school took a trip to Six Flags in Jackson Township, NJ.  Unfortunately, I bore witness to several atrocities.
Animals are forced to live in small spaces barely the size of a school classroom and are caged in small facilities without access to habitats similar to a natural safari.  Their freedom to run and roam is stripped away, and it should pain us all to imagine the loneliness that these animals feel every second of the day.  This is an unacceptable example for visitors- it teaches our children and teens that animal abuse is both accepted as well as entertaining.

Not only is this immoral, but it violates law of the Animal Welfare Act:
~Subpart I, 2.131 (e): "When climatic conditions present a threat to an animal’s health... appropriate measures must be taken to alleviate the impact of
those conditions. An animal may never be subjected to any combination of temperature, humidity, and time that is detrimental to the animal’s health..."
This is being violated at the Jackson Six Flags park, as exhibits of the endangered Siberian tiger are outdoors even in extremely summer hot weather, despite the typical climate condition of a Siberian tiger to be cold, harsh, and often with deep snow in cold winter months. This is also happening at Six Flags Great Discovery.
**As you can see from this example of the Siberian tiger, animals at Six Flags are suffering from a drastic change in environment from what they should be living in.

As human beings, we are all privileged enough to be born with a voice to use to speak out against injustices; and as students, we are the coming generation that is responsible to enact change for the better.  Until there is an end to animal injustice, we will not stop fighting for the rights of those who do not have a voice to speak with.

My friend, Sarah Ma, and I write this petition to push that change must be made and that it must be made quickly.  Please sign to help further garner vital public attention towards these despicable acts of unkindness!
