🚨 UPDATE: WE HIT THE SIGNATURE GOAL!

To everyone who signed, shared, and supported the Cape May County Foundational Black American Reparations Act Petition — thank you. Because of your support, we have officially reached the required number of signatures.

This milestone shows that our community is organized, engaged, and ready to have this conversation with local leadership. The petition will now be formally shared with the Cape May County Board of County Commissioners so they can review the proposal and consider introducing the legislation.

This effort is about:
• Recognizing historical harm
• Addressing economic disparities
• Creating a lawful, lineage-based policy discussion at the county level

But this is not the end — it’s the beginning.

Next steps:
1️⃣ The petition and community resolution will be sent to the County Commissioners.
2️⃣ We will request that the issue be placed on the agenda for a public discussion or hearing.
3️⃣ Community members will have the opportunity to speak and participate in the process.

Your voices made this possible. Grassroots action is how real policy conversations begin.

Please continue sharing the petition and staying engaged as we move into the next phase — bringing this issue directly before county leadership.

Together we are building momentum for meaningful dialogue and solutions.
