Sai Kung is "The back garden of Hong Kong". People from the city flock here at weekends and public holidays because it boasts beautiful white sandy beaches, wonderful hiking trails, an abundance of nature, walks on the waterfront, and some of the best restaurants Hong Kong has to offer with outside seating.....Or does it?

For some time now, Sai Kung's alfresco dining has been under attack by the FEHD. They have used intimidation tactics, ambiguity, a lack of consensus in rules and policies, kept restaurant owners in the dark about their outside seating applications, and to top it all, they pop-up and conduct on the spot fining to the very same restaurants for fines of $500 per person for every individual sitting outside on "Government Land/non-licensed seating area." The result of all of this is that the newer restaurants, that are unaware or that depend on the seats outside at the weekends, are closing down after 6 months!! The FEHD are hurting small businesses and therefore, hurting our community, and we want it to stop. 

The Chairman of Sai Kung is collaborating with us to support our argument for clearer licensing guidelines and zero on the spot fining. We want Sai Kung to prosper and be starting point for unobstructed alfresco dining in Hong Kong.

西貢是“香港的後花園”。城市人在週末和公眾假期湧向這裡，因為它擁有美麗的沙灘和精彩的遠足徑。在码頭海边走走，選擇一些喜歡的餐廰戶外座位，坐下來感受西貢那份大自然氣息. ..可以嗎？
一直以來，西貢的露天茶座不断被食環署攻擊。他們使用模糊旳策略，缺乏規劃和政策，使餐廳老闆在處理露天座位的程序上無所適從。而且，最重要的是，他們當場執行每位使用露天位置客人$ 500的罰款，令餐廰老闆真叫苦連天！這一切歸究政府土地/非授權的休息區條例。
有些新加入的餐館，不知就裡以爲可增加户外座位在週末做生意，经不起不断的票控，在6個月後倒閉！食環署正在打押这些難苦经營的小店，對我們的社區也造成傷害，我們希望它能停止。
西貢區議會主席支持我們的觀點，亦同意製訂明確的票控指引，冀能達到零票控。我們除希望西貢継缋興盛外，更以西貢為争取”香港通露天茶座權益”爲起點。
