The Issue

PETITION FOR TRAFFIC OFFICER DURING SCHOOL ZONE HOURS
Santa Rita Blvd & Tierra Rosa Blvd Intersection – Santa Rita Middle School

To: Santa Rita Middle School Administration, LHISD School Board, LHISD Police Department, and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department

We, the undersigned parents, residents, and community members, respectfully request that a law enforcement officer be assigned to direct traffic at the intersection of Santa Rita Blvd and Tierra Rosa Blvd during school zone drop-off and pick-up hours.

This intersection has become increasingly dangerous due to the heavy volume of vehicles and the number of students crossing the street during school hours. Without active traffic control, the intersection poses a safety risk to both pedestrians and drivers.

On March 10, 2026, a student was struck by a vehicle at this intersection. This incident highlights the urgent need for improved traffic safety measures.

The safety of students must be the highest priority. Having an officer directing traffic during school zone hours would help regulate vehicle flow, assist students crossing safely, and reduce the likelihood of additional accidents.

We respectfully request immediate action to improve safety at this intersection.

By signing below, we support assigning a law enforcement officer to direct traffic at the intersection of Santa Rita Blvd and Tierra Rosa Blvd during school zone hours.

Thank you for sharing this important concern. While this matter falls outside the city’s scope and authority, I’m encouraged the county and/or school district will take these concerns into account and make actionable change for our community. I apologize to such a late response. I have read over the petition. I am sorry to say that this falls outside of the city limits. While this falls outside our purview, I hope that Williamson County and the Liberty Hill ISD will take these concerns and weigh all the options to make the best decision possible.
