We feel some recent criticism has unfairly lumped all cat cafes together. While we share these organisations' concerns about cat cafes where the residents are long term, there are many cat cafes that have the sole aim of rescuing and rehoming and have good safeguarding practices in place.

We call on the RSPCA and Cats’ Protection to acknowledge that there are cat cafes that aim to rescue and rehome and state that this is not the sort of cafe they are targeting. Lumping all cat cafes as one entity affects customer numbers, customer perception and ultimately how many cats we can help. 

My cat rescue and cafe (The Bad Cat Cafe and Rescue CIC) has rehomed 145 cats in 2.5 years. We only have 8 cats at a time, only keep the cats for an average of 8 weeks before we rehome and have strict rehoming and safeguarding practices in place. We have a maximum of 10 customers at a time.
