INTERNATIONAL PETITION FOR THE IMMEDIATE DISSOLUTION OF CAF AND FOR A REFORM OF ITS GOVERNANCE BODIES

For the sporting truth and the credibility of African football

We, African citizens, football lovers, civil society actors and defenders of sports ethics,

Let us express our deep indignation at the unprecedented decision of the African Football Confederation (CAF) to cancel Senegal's victory at the CAN 2025 to award the title to Morocco on a green carpet.

This decision constitutes a serious break with the fundamental principles of sport. It calls into question the truth of the field and sets a dangerous precedent where results can be redefined outside the game.

But beyond this decision, it is the very governance of African football that is being questioned today.

Under the presidency of Patrice Motsepe, CAF is facing increasing criticism over its lack of transparency, its internal functioning and its ability to guarantee equity between African nations.

Moreover, the close relations between CAF and FIFA led by Gianni Infantino raise legitimate questions about the real independence of decisions taken at continental level and the influence of global dynamics in the management of African football.

Faced with these concerns, we believe that it is imperative to open a substantive debate on the governance of African football.

We denounce:

• An opaque and incomprehensible decision, taken at odds with the spirit of sport
• Governance weakened by a lack of transparency and accountability
• A loss of credibility of CAF on the African and international scene
• A serious damage to the image of African football

We call:

• The immediate opening of an independent and transparent investigation
• A public clarification of the responsibilities in this decision
• A profound reform of the governance of the CAF
• To the referral of international sports courts to restore the truth of the field

African football cannot be weakened by decisions that weaken its credibility and legitimacy.

Today, it is not only about Senegal. This is about the future of African football.

To sign this petition is to defend justice, transparency and the dignity of African sport.
