To the Knox County Schools Planning department and Ombudsman office:

We, the undersigned residents of Farragut Heights subdivision, together with the neighboring communities of Boxwood Hills and Wrenwood, respectfully submit this petition requesting a formal review and reconsideration of current Middle and High school zoning assignments impacting our neighborhoods.

Grounds For Request:

• geographic Proximity and Transportation Efficiency- Students are assigned to Harden Valley Middle and High School that is significantly farther away (approximately 9 miles) than the closer option of Farragut Middle and High Schools (approximately 3 miles).
• Student Safety and Welfare - Longer commute times increase fatigue and reduces safety. 
• Transportation serving Farragut Middle and high close-
  Bus# 231 going to Farragut Middle and High School currently picks up right across Kingston Pike passing both neighborhoods.
• Family Cohesion and Safety Feeder pattern- current zoning disrupts established family and school patterns.  Also making commutes from Farragut zoned Primary and Intermediate School to the zone Harden Valley Middle and High school dangerous is all kids had to get picked up in the case of an emergency.
• consistency with District Planning Principles - Rezoning would better align with logical community boundaries. 

Request Action:

We formally request a boundary review process and full consideration of reassignment to Farragut Middle and High school.
