To: The Frisco ISD Board of Trustees and District Standing Boundary Committee From: Residents and Homeowners of Edgestone at Legacy, Frisco, Texas
Subject: Request for Attendance Zone Realignment to Reedy High School and Pearson Middle School
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
We, the undersigned residents of Edgestone at Legacy, formally petition the Frisco Independent School District to adjust the attendance boundaries for our community. Currently, Edgestone at Legacy is assigned to Frisco High School and Hunt Middle School. We respectfully request that the district rezone our neighborhood to Reedy High School for high school and Pearson Middle School for middle school.
KEY JUSTIFICATIONS FOR REZONING
● Elimination of ISD Transportation Needs (Reedy High School): Reedy High School is situated directly adjacent to the Edgestone at Legacy community. Because of this immediate physical proximity, rezoning high school students to Reedy would completely eliminate the need for FISD bus transportation for these students. Neighborhood high schoolers could safely walk or bike to campus, saving the district vital transportation resources and reducing busing operations.
● Geographic Proximity (Pearson Middle School): Pearson Middle School is located less than 2 miles from Edgestone at Legacy. Commuting to Pearson significantly shortens daily drive times compared to the current assignment at Hunt Middle School, drastically lowering neighborhood traffic congestion on major thoroughfares during peak school drop-off and pick-up hours.
● District Operational & Fiscal Efficiency: Consolidating school assignments to the closest neighboring campuses optimizes bus routes, lowers fuel and maintenance costs for FISD fleets, and aligns with the district's goal of efficient resource utilization.
● Community Cohesion & Safety: Aligning attendance boundaries with natural geographic neighbors allows students within the same subdivision to attend school together, building stronger community bonds and creating safer, walkable neighborhoods.

We urge the Frisco ISD Board of Trustees and the District Boundary Committee to evaluate these geographical advantages during the upcoming attendance zone review process and
approve the boundary realignment for Edgestone at Legacy to Reedy High School and Pearson Middle School.
