As reported in today's edition of the Logansport Pharos-Tribune, Mayor Chris Martin will have to make two court appearances in response to creditors who want to be paid more than $12,000.

Martin owes more than $8,000 in payments to the local Mike Anderson auto dealership and ore than $4,000 to Henry Kay Jewelers. This is not associated with payments of more than $40,000 the owner of Logansport's Super 8 Motel is seeking from Martin for services provided for the minor league basketball team housed at the motel during the recent season.

The allegations are particularly disturbing in Martin, as mayor, is responsible for presenting a budget annually to the city council. The city budget is more than $10 million, not including revenue from the Logansport Utilities.

This story, which was the lead item for the Pharos-Tribune today, has spurred various comments on social media about the negativity the news presents for the city and its image.

This is among the many reasons why a petition demanding Martin's resignation and his replacement with a certified, trained city manager has been signed by nearly 33 dozen people. This latest report is among the "red flags" about Martin that aren't associated with other mayors of either party in other cities, or Logansport.

Please read the petition, sign it and share it.

Thank you for caring for Logansport's future.
