Nearly 120 Logansport residents have signed a petition demanding that Mayor Chris Martin resign. The reasons go beyond a recent controversy involving the number of Haitian immigrants in Logansport. One is the ongoing political satire called "The Logansport Report" which acknowledges that our city government can't be taken seriously because of the lack of leadership in the City Building. Now, the mayor, without being able to secure grant funding for several projects, has signed off on a new bond issue that will raise property taxes. In the previous administration, the city refinanced an existing bond issue to lower the rate taxpayers paid, and the bonds were purchased by Security Federal. This is particularly painful this week when taxpayers make their second tax payment.
