Hello Supporters of Yarras Edge,

Quick update to inform you that I have followed up with Lord Mayor Nicholas Reece and the Office of the Lord Mayor, City of Melbourne, they have acknowledged receipt of my email responding to concerns and update on the total number of signatures which currently sits at 1,141 verified signatures.

I have personally hand delivered the petition notices to each resident in buildings 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 (board with QR code at entrance) plus all townhouses on Lorimer Street. I still have to deliver petitions to building 2, 8, 10 and 11, I'm planning to do this over the coming days. This ensures ALL residents have a chance to review the proposal and provide their decision, Yes or No.

Note, there is no building 7 (the park), 9 (in construction) or 12 (to be constructed).

The council supplied me with reference documents regarding the process going forward and potential timeframes. I have taken a snippet from the document titled: Place_and_Road_Naming_Policy_Adopted_23_April_2024.pdf, and highlighted the clause that impacts the proposal and stage we are currently at.

Based on this, from date of email submission to the council (11 November 2025), they have 60 days to respond to my request.

After which they either accept or request further information of the submitter (me) to be submitted within 60 days.

All looking positive so far, i await council feedback.
