PETITION FOR OFFICIAL REVIEW OF ONLINE COMMUNITY SAFETY CONCERNS

Regarding: Online Community Safety Concerns Involving Mahsa Nazari and Aidin Davoudi

Overview

Members of the Iranian diaspora community have expressed concerns about online activity that they believe may affect the safety, privacy, dignity, and well-being of community members.

This petition respectfully asks the appropriate U.S. authorities to review publicly available online activity and any community safety concerns that may be lawfully brought to their attention.

Community members have expressed concerns about publicly visible online activity involving social media accounts they have identified as @hella_artist_original, @hella_artist_politics, and @hella_artist_pv, among others. Petitioners respectfully ask the appropriate authorities to review any relevant public online activity and any concerns lawfully submitted by community members, through the proper legal process.

This petition does not accuse any individual of a crime. It does not make legal conclusions. It does not ask the public to determine whether any law has been violated. It asks only that the proper authorities review the matter fairly, impartially, and in accordance with U.S. law.

Purpose of This Petition

The purpose of this petition is to request a lawful and impartial review of online activity that members of the community believe may involve harassment, intimidation, privacy concerns, or conduct that discourages civic, political, or human rights participation.

Any factual determination, legal conclusion, or enforcement decision should be made only by the appropriate authorities through the proper legal process.

Request for Official Review

Petitioners respectfully call on DHS, ICE, DOJ, and any other relevant U.S. authorities to:

• Review publicly available online activity related to these community safety concerns

• Review any concerns that community members may lawfully submit to the proper authorities

• Determine whether any online activity raises safety, privacy, harassment, or intimidation concerns under applicable law

• Provide an appropriate channel for individuals to report concerns safely

• Take action only where legally appropriate and supported by the proper review process
