At the forefront of current concerns is the proposed above-ground battery energy storage facility planned for within our county. As this and other large-scale infrastructure projects are evaluated, many residents are seeking meaningful opportunities to engage and to express their opposition to the introduction of such developments within our county. In response to the urgency of this matter, we are advocating for the immediate implementation of a moratorium on battery energy storage systems and related infrastructure projects. To support this effort, we have created a survey-style petition for Reno County residents and landowners to formally register their position. To ensure the integrity and accuracy of our count, we respectfully ask that you sign this petition only if you have not already signed a paper version. We, the undersigned Reno County Citizens/Landowners, are requesting a moratorium on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Data Centers in our county until further study on these projects is done.
