Petition for Justice: Charge Erik Soria-Ramos with Vehicular Manslaughter

Petition for Justice: Charge Erik Soria-Ramos with Vehicular Manslaughter
The Issue
On May 13, 2024, our community was devastated by the tragic loss of Gabriel Avery May, a devoted husband, loving father of five, cherished son, and friend to many. Gabriel was also a proud grandfather of two, whose laughter and joy he cherished deeply. As the owner and operator of Vineyard Bay Automotive, he not only contributed to our local economy but also exemplified the values of hard work and dedication. His sudden and untimely death has left a profound void in the lives of his family and friends, along with the countless individuals who relied on his kindness and expertise.
Gabriel was struck and killed by Erik Soria-Ramos, who was recklessly speeding in a dump truck owned by Davis Pool Steel on Flint Rock Rd. Shockingly, Erik Soria-Ramos was only charged with a speeding ticket, a consequence that fails to reflect the severity of his actions and the devastating impact on Gabriel's family.
We believe that the reckless operation of a vehicle that leads to the loss of an innocent life should be met with appropriate legal repercussions. Therefore, we urge you to join us in demanding that the authorities charge Erik Soria-Ramos with Vehicular Manslaughter.
As we advocate for justice, we also encourage our community to support Vineyard Bay Automotive for all of your automotive needs. By choosing to do business with Gabriel's family, you can help support them during this incredibly difficult time. Together, let us honor Gabriel's memory and ensure accountability, while also uplifting his family's legacy. Sign this petition and stand with us for justice and community support.
