Petition for Justice and Police Reform to Respect Constitutional Rights

The Issue

The police in Pennsylvania state range from nice, respectful individuals who keep people safe to intolerant dismissive individuals who make innocent people afraid of them, and in this particular case, killing an unarmed man.

This petition is for a complete and fair application of justice in the immediate circumstances, and for police reform to include:

Basic non-lethal hand-to-hand self defense training, or reinforcement of this training at regular intervals, if it is already in place.

Very clear training on when or when not to use deadly force. Should include federal court precedents, and also local laws.

Psychological evaluations of police officers at regular intervals, to ensure no undue stress or psychological impairment of police officers on active duty.

Training to provide officers with guidelines on being respectful, and professional with everyone they interact with during their duties. (Someone receiving a traffic citation should not have to feel the same as someone being arrested for a real crime).
