Hey everyone,

Hope you’re all doing well. I wanted to fill you in on our petition’s progress. So, we’ve hit 60 signatures, which is awesome, but we’re still 40 short of our goal for Sunday. Not hitting our target isn’t about not trying hard enough. In fact, the response has been pretty impressive: out of 242 views, we’ve got a 40% signup rate, which is way above the average.

But here’s the thing—I kind of dropped the ball. I made our petition way too technical. It’s been hard for some people to get what we’re fighting for. The truth is, our neighborhood is facing unfair treatment. The Prince George’s County Department of Inspections, Permits, and Enforcement isn’t doing their part properly, and the developers, builders, their staff who do not even livehere, make big promises, mock us, treat our hard earned dollars like it’s nothing then leave us with nothing but problems. They wine and dine us until the contract is closed, then bait and switch us like a buy here pay here used car lot.

I’m realizing now that our message needs to be super clear. Nobody should have to decode what we’re asking for. It’s simple: we’re standing up against unfairness in our community. Signing the petition is like saying, “I’m with you.” It’s not just any signature; it’s everyone from your family, your friends, to your neighbors showing they care.

I really appreciate everyone who’s already signed and shared. Your support means we’re not alone in this. I’m going to make sure our petition is straightforward from now on, so more people can understand and join us.

Thanks for sticking with us. Together, we can make a difference.

Take care,

Demetrius Roberts
