Petition for Improved Translink Services in the Four Winds Area of South Belfast

We, the undersigned, are residents of the Four Winds area in South Belfast and are calling on Translink to urgently address the inadequate public transport services provided to our community.

The current service is woefully insufficient, with many residents experiencing severe difficulties in accessing vital aspects of daily life, including:

• Work: Reliable transport is essential for people to commute to their jobs. The lack of service is causing undue stress, missed opportunities, and financial strain.
• Education: Students depend on public transport to reach their schools and universities, yet the current provision makes punctuality and consistency nearly impossible.
• Essential appointments: The ability to attend medical appointments or other crucial commitments should not be jeopardised by an unreliable transport system.
• Family connections: For many, public transport is a lifeline to visit loved ones and maintain vital support networks

This ongoing issue has been a massive hindrance to our community, causing frustration, inconvenience, and a feeling of being overlooked by a service that is meant to serve the public.

The lack of reliable public transport in the Four Winds area is unacceptable and has persisted for far too long. As paying customers, we deserve a service that respects our time, needs, and dignity.

We demand:

• A vastly improved service: This includes more frequent, reliable, and accessible routes to accommodate the community’s needs.
• Transparent communication: Clear updates about changes, disruptions, or improvements to services.
• Respect for customers: Recognising the Four Winds area as an integral part of South Belfast, deserving of the same quality of service as other parts of the city.

We urge Translink to take immediate action to rectify these issues and provide the Four Winds community with the public transport service it not only needs but deserves.
