The Issue

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

We, the concerned members of our local community, are writing to express our collective dissatisfaction with the current state of Dublin Bus/Go Ahead Route No: 238. As residents of Tyrrelstown, we rely heavily on public transportation for our daily commutes, and the inconsistent and unreliable bus service has become a significant source of frustration.

The issues we have encountered with the existing bus service are as follows:

1. Inconsistent Schedules: The bus service often fails to adhere to its posted schedules, leading to delays at work/schools, missed appointments, and disrupted daily routines. This inconsistency not only inconveniences our residents but also erodes our confidence in public transportation.

2. Unpredictable Frequency: There is a noticeable lack of regular bus service, especially during peak hours. This forces many of our community members to find alternative, often less efficient, means of transportation to fulfil their daily obligations.

3. Insufficient Coverage: Certain areas within our community are underserved or not served at all, leaving residents with limited access to essential services, educational institutions, and job opportunities.

We understand the challenges faced by the local authority in providing efficient public transportation, but we believe that a reliable and regular bus service is a fundamental need for our community's growth and well-being.

Therefore, we, the undersigned residents of Tyrrelstown, earnestly request that the local authority take immediate action to address these issues and improve our bus service. We suggest the following steps:

1. Develop a Consistent Schedule: Ensure that the bus service adheres to a reliable and predictable schedule that meets the needs of our residents, especially during peak hours.

2. Increase Frequency: Consider increasing the frequency of buses, particularly during rush hours, to reduce overcrowding and improve accessibility.

3. Expand Coverage: Explore options to extend the bus routes to underserved areas within our community, ensuring that all residents have access to public transportation.

We firmly believe that addressing these concerns will not only enhance the quality of life for the members of our community but also contribute to Fingal County Council’s overall development and sustainability. We kindly request a meeting with the local authorities to discuss these matters further and work collaboratively towards a solution.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and we hope for a swift and positive response to our petition. Our community's well-being depends on it.

Sincerely,

Concerned Community Members
Tyrrelstown, Dublin 15
