We, the undersigned, call upon councils and animal welfare organizations to provide fair and equitable funding for small non-profit registered charity animal rescues, such as Enchanted Rescue. These rescues play a crucial role in saving and rehabilitating stray cats and kittens in our communities, yet often struggle to secure the financial support needed to continue their lifesaving work.

Enchanted Rescue is a small non-profit registered charity animal rescue that operates with limited resources and relies heavily on the dedication and personal funds of its volunteers. Despite rescuing and providing medical treatment and rehabilitation for just as many stray cats and kittens as larger rescues, we receive minimal to no funding or sponsorship.

It is unjust that smaller rescues like Enchanted Rescue are overlooked for grants and donations, while larger organizations with more resources and visibility receive the financial support they need. We believe that all registered ethical rescues, regardless of size, should have access to funding to ensure the well-being of the animals in their care.

By providing adequate funding to smaller rescues, councils and animal welfare organizations can help save the lives of countless animals that would otherwise be euthanized in pounds. These rescues work tirelessly to give these animals a second chance at life, and they deserve the support to continue their vital work.

We urge councils and animal welfare organizations to recognize the invaluable contributions of small non-profit animal rescues like Enchanted Rescue and allocate funding to help them save and care for vulnerable animals in our communities.
