Petition for Immediate Review and Equitable Action

CBSE Class 10 Mathematics Examination 2026

To the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE),

We, the undersigned students and parents, formally raise concerns regarding the Class 10 Mathematics Board Examination 2026, covering both Basic and Standard streams across all regions.

Widespread feedback from multiple cities indicates significant variation in difficulty levels across different sets. Students from both Basic and Standard streams have reported papers that were disproportionately lengthy, conceptually demanding, and inconsistent with the level reflected in the prescribed syllabus and official sample papers.

The Basic stream is intended to reflect a foundational standard, while the Standard stream must maintain uniformity across regions. Any deviation from these principles undermines fairness and places students at an academic disadvantage through no fault of their own.

Students prepared diligently throughout the year based on the Board’s prescribed structure. When the final examination departs from that framework or shows inconsistency across regions, it raises serious concerns regarding parity and equitable assessment.

We therefore demand:

An immediate and transparent review of all Mathematics papers (Basic and Standard) across regions.

Fair moderation or lenient evaluation where imbalance is identified.

Appropriate compensatory measures, including grace marks or standardized moderation, to ensure that no student suffers due to paper-level disparity.

This is not a request for favour—it is a demand for fairness, consistency, and justice for all students.

We urge the Board to act promptly in the interest of transparency and equitable academic evaluation.

Respectfully submitted.
