Listen, I know the “The Star-Spangeled Banner” is historically beautiful, but is it a bop? Frankly, I don’t think so. 

Both “This is America” by legendary multitalented icon Donald Glover a.k.a. Childish Gambino and “The Star-Spangeled Banner” by poet John Stafford Smith who died from choking on a “grape-pip” (source: Wikipedia) have written works that beautifully describe the true “American spirit”, but the latter did not recieve 53 million YouTube views in 4 days. I mean, yeah, John Stafford Smith was “one of the first serious collectors of manuscripts” (source: Wikipedia), and that was pretty cool in that time one might guess, but did you see all the hidden refrences in the “This is America” music video? Oh my God. Chills. Can we play the video too whenever we play the anthem? Force kids to watch it in schools before class, and before every football game, the whole nine yards. And during the Super Bowl, diffrent celebrities will sing the song, but instead of diffrent celebrities it’s just Donald Glover dressed up as diffrent celebrities singing the same song over and over and over.. Haha.
