The Issue

for a commutation request for Alexander Hankins needing character references and also needing the petition to be signed on change.org to get 500 signatures to submit to Governor Lombardo  . Nevada administrative code 213.100 new criminal code allows for petitioner to apply for commutation to the pardons board based on new changed in law in the 2019 legislative session 80th session assembly bill AB236 Changed substantively and procedurally various statues number one NRS 205.228 grand Larson of a motor vehicle changed from the severity and punishment of an offender under the statues after 2019 to only be category C125 sentence . Also NRS 205.060 burglary , was also substantively procedurally changed now expanding the range and severity of punishment. The range of category offense. Punishment Imposed .
Specifically burglary of a business , carrying a category c felony 1-5 sentence . I was sentenced December 17,2015 . In case # cr15-0984 and cr15-1137 to category b 3-10 on each count in each previous nrs 205.228 . And grand larceny of a motor vehicle . Nrs 205.228 and nrs 205.060 burglary . I I respectfully request your consideration of my application for commutation in light of the relevant changes that was brought up about by Nevada’s 80th legislative session specifically I believe the updates to NRS 205.228 and nrs 205.060(1) under assembly bill 236 effective July 1 at 2020 reflect a significant change shift in the legal standard regarding grand larceny of a motor vehicle and burglary of a business. The statue is not only redefined the offenses, but also alter the penalties associated with the charges, moving towards a framework that emphasizes rehabilitation and restorative justice and values that I have actively embraced during my time in custody inside of the NEVADA Department Of Corrections. Under the revised legislation, I am requesting that my conviction for grand larceny of a motor vehicle. Case # cr15-0984 count 3 . Be commuted to a category c felony . With revised sentence of 12-60 months . And that my burglary conviction , case #cr15-1137 count 1 be similarly commuted to a category c felony . With a revised sentence of 12-60 months. I respectfully ask that upon considering these offenses, you recommend that these sentences be served concurrently in line with the arrangements of the original plea agreement.. over the past decade, I have engaged in deep reflection regarding the choices I have made, and the devastating impact of those choices and I had made on the victims of my crimes. I feel a profound sense of remorse for the pain and suffering. I caused the individuals and their families whose lives were affected by my actions. The weight of my conscience is heavy, and I am constantly reminded of the trust I shattered and the sense of security, I violated I acknowledge that my actions . Have left scars that may never heal. And I am committed to doing everything in my power to mend the damage that I have caused.
my heart aches for the victim and their loved ones , and I assure you that I fully grasp the gravity of my wrong doings . It is painful to recognize that my misguided choices led to the suffering of others . The remorse I feel is not fleeting and serves as a constant reminder of the responsibility I bear for my actions i am dedicated to doing my part and repairing the harm and assuring such actions are never repeated . I wish to actively demonstrate my commitment to change thru amazing actions and for the restitution owed to my victims . respectfully submitted by Alexander Hankins.
