We, the undersigned members of the Carlsbad, New Mexico community, are coming together to express serious concern regarding the safety and well-being of our community especially our children.

It has come to our attention, through publicly available information, that the owner of The Alibi coffee shop has a criminal history involving offenses related to the exploitation of a minor. As parents, families, and community members, this raises deep and valid concerns about the presence and operation of a business owned by an individual with such a background.

Carlsbad is a close-knit community where families should feel safe supporting local businesses without fear or hesitation. Many residents are now uncomfortable frequenting this establishment, and there is a growing concern about the message it sends when issues of this nature are not addressed with transparency and accountability.

This petition is not about harassment or vigilantism. It is about advocating for the safety, awareness, and standards our community deserves.
