Petition for Approval to Install Sliding Frosted Glass Window at Yard Area at Parkland KJ2

Petition for Approval to Install Sliding Frosted Glass Window at Yard Area at Parkland KJ2
The Issue
We, the undersigned residents and purchasers of Parkland KJ2 Residence, would like to formally request the Management Office and relevant authorities to consider allowing the installation of a horizontal sliding frosted glass window, with or without an integrated exhaust fan, at the yard area in place of the currently required fixed-type grill.
1. Purpose of Request
The primary purpose of this petition is to improve both safety and privacy for residents, while maintaining proper ventilation and compliance with building regulations.
2. Justifications
a) Enhanced Safety
A properly installed sliding window with secure locking mechanisms offers comparable or improved safety versus fixed grills.
It reduces risks associated with exposed open yard areas, especially for high-rise units and families with children.
b) Improved Privacy
Frosted glass panels provide effective visual privacy without completely blocking natural light.
This is especially important as yard areas are often visible from neighboring units.
c) Ventilation & Hygiene
Sliding windows allow controlled airflow compared to fixed grills.
The option to include an integrated exhaust fan helps improve air circulation, reduce moisture buildup, and prevent mold growth.
d) Aesthetic Consistency
Uniform installation guidelines (frame color, design, and specifications) can ensure that the building’s external appearance remains consistent and well-maintained.
3. Reference to Other Developments
Similar installations have been permitted or commonly practiced in other residential developments in Malaysia, including:
- Setia Alam serviced apartments
- Cyberjaya high-rise residences
- Various condominiums in Klang Valley
In these developments, management bodies allow sliding or casement yard windows (often with frosted glass and ventilation systems) subject to standard design guidelines.
4. Compliance with Authorities
We are fully supportive of complying with all safety, fire escape, and ventilation regulations. If necessary, we are open to adopting specific design standards to ensure compliance.
5. Proposed Conditions (if required)
We are agreeable to:
Standardized design and color guidelines
Approval prior to installation
Ensing no obstruction to emergency escape routes
Use of approved contractors if required
6. Conclusion
We sincerely hope the Management Office and relevant authorities will consider this request, as it balances resident safety, privacy, ventilation, and building aesthetics.
We appreciate your time and consideration and look forward to a favorable response.
