Subject: Request for Establishment of an Indian Consulate and Cultural Center in the Eastern Province
Dear Honorable Representatives,
On behalf of over 1 million Indian expatriates residing in the Eastern Province, we respectfully request the establishment of an Indian Consulate and Cultural Center in this region.
Why This Matters
The Eastern Province is home to a significant Indian community that actively contributes to both the local economy and Saudi Arabia’s cultural diversity. However, our community continues to face considerable challenges in accessing essential consular services.
Currently, the nearest Indian consulate is in Riyadh, requiring residents of Dammam, Al Khobar, Dhahran, Jubail, Hofuf and nearby areas to endure costly and time-consuming travel for basic services. Moreover, the absence of a cultural center leaves us without a dedicated space to celebrate our vibrant festivals and traditions, making it difficult to preserve our cultural roots.
Establishing an Indian Consulate and Cultural Center in this region is both practical and compassionate. This initiative would also help reduce the workload on the Riyadh Consulate, allowing it to focus on other important tasks.
Our Request
- Establish a Consulate in the Eastern Province to ensure easier access to services.
- Develop a Cultural Center to promote Indian heritage and strengthen bilateral ties.
