We, the undersigned members in good standing of CWA Local 6222, submit this petition requesting a special membership meeting pursuant to Article VII – Meetings, Section C of the CWA Local 6222 Bylaws.

On September 17, 2026, members of CWA Local 6222 were notified of significant changes involving the Local's leadership, including information that the Local President, Vice President(s), and Executive Board had been dissolved.

Due to the significance of these events and the questions and concerns that have arisen among the membership, we believe it is important that the members of CWA Local 6222 receive clear and timely information directly from the appropriate District and/or CWA leadership.

PURPOSE OF THE SPECIAL MEETING

We are requesting a special membership meeting for the purpose of:

• Providing clarification regarding the events that occurred on September 17, 2026.
• Explaining the circumstances and process surrounding the reported dissolution of the Local President, Vice President(s), and Executive Board.
• Clarifying the current leadership and representation structure of CWA Local 6222.
• Explaining the role and authority of the district in the current situation.
• Providing members with accurate and timely communication regarding the status and operation of CWA Local 6222.
• Allowing members an opportunity to ask questions and receive answers concerning these events and their impact on the membership.
  
  

We request that the special membership meeting take place in person at the CWA Local 6222 Union Hall, located at:

10959 Ella Blvd.
Houston, TX 77067

We further request that the special membership meeting be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, or earlier, so that members can receive timely clarification and communication regarding the recent events affecting CWA Local 6222.

We believe an in-person meeting at the Union Hall will provide members with an appropriate opportunity to come together, receive information directly from the appropriate leadership, ask questions, and obtain clarification regarding the current situation.

We are not seeking to prejudge or make conclusions regarding these events. Rather, we are requesting transparency, clarification, and direct communication regarding matters that affect the Local and its membership.

CWA 6222 By-Laws (Updated Feb. 2026), Article VII, Meetings, Section (C):

"Special meetings of the Local may be called by the Executive Board, or by a petition 
of fifty (50) members presented to the Secretary-Treasurer with not less than four (4) 
days notice."
