We, the fans of Dead Head Fred, are writing to express our deep appreciation for one of the most creative and overlooked games of its generation.

 

Released in 2007 exclusively on PSP, Dead Head Fred offered a truly original experience: a dark noir atmosphere, unique humor, and an inventive gameplay mechanic based on switching heads to gain different abilities. It was bold, strange, and full of personality — a game that dared to be different.

Unfortunately, being confined to a single portable platform limited its visibility and potential. Many players believe that Dead Head Fred was ahead of its time and never had the opportunity to fully shine.

Today, the gaming industry has shown that cult classics, creative risks, and story-driven experiences can successfully return through remakes, remasters, or reboots on modern platforms. We strongly believe that Dead Head Fred deserves the same chance.

With modern hardware and today’s audience, this unique concept could finally reach its true potential on home consoles and PC.

We respectfully ask Sony Interactive Entertainment / PlayStation Studios to consider revisiting the Dead Head Fred IP — whether through a remake, remaster, reboot, or even a spiritual revival — and to acknowledge the lasting affection fans still have for this title.

Noi fan di Dead Head Fred vogliamo esprimere il nostro affetto e la nostra stima per uno dei giochi più creativi e sottovalutati della sua generazione.

Uscito nel 2007 esclusivamente su PSP, Dead Head Fred proponeva un’esperienza unica: atmosfera noir, umorismo oscuro e una meccanica di gioco originale basata sul cambio di testa, ognuna con abilità diverse. Era un gioco coraggioso, diverso, pieno di identità.

Purtroppo, l’esclusività su una sola piattaforma portatile ne ha limitato la diffusione e il successo. Molti giocatori ritengono che fosse avanti per i suoi tempi e che non abbia mai avuto la possibilità di esprimere davvero il suo potenziale.

Oggi il mercato videoludico dimostra che i giochi cult e le idee creative possono rinascere attraverso remake, remaster o reboot su piattaforme moderne. Crediamo sinceramente che Dead Head Fred meriti questa opportunità.

Chiediamo con rispetto a Sony Interactive Entertainment / PlayStation Studios di valutare il ritorno dell’IP Dead Head Fred, sotto qualsiasi forma ritenuta appropriata.
