2 Minute Action Needed: Demolition for AI Data Center

Action Needed:  Call First Selectman Vicki Tesoro's Office at 203-452-5007 to say you DO NOT want an AI Data Center in Trumbull and that you are disappointed that this project is moving forward without public discourse or approval. 

You may also email the Town Clerk at councilclerk@trumbull-ct.gov or your individual town council members to express your opposition to the AI Data Center proceeding without: 
-proper study of its impacts,
-the development of guardrails to protect public health and the environment, 
-community input

Demolition at 80 Merritt Blvd has begun without transparency or communication to the citizens of Trumbull. We can still stop this development, but we need a large and sustained public outcry. We have sent the following email to the Town Council, Planning & Zoning, Demolition Review Committee, and the First Selectman:

We were disappointed to learn today that the Town of Trumbull has granted a demolition permit and associated building permits for 80 Merritt Blvd in the Trumbull Corporate Park.  Generally, building permits are issued AFTER formal Planning and Zoning Commission and Demolition Review Committee approvals and reviews.

A quick check of recent agenda and minutes would indicate that there has been zero Planning and Zoning Commission approval for any activity at 80 Merritt Blvd.

We believe that this facility was included in the most recent Connecticut State Historical Preservation Office (SHPO) funded study of 150 historically significant structures in Trumbull, CT.  Was this proposed and apparently approved activity even given a cursory review by our Trumbull Historical Society?

In response to our First Selectman’s press release to follow property closely and gather information, we asked that any land use approvals or other municipal actions be taken after a joint public meeting of both Town Council and Planning and Zoning take place.  Clearly both the property owner and Town of Trumbull are moving forward.

What other approvals or other municipal actions have been approved?  Where can we find these applications and approvals?
