We are the gaming community, and today we refuse to let Bioware die.

On October 21, 2026, Electronic Arts made the catastrophic decision to shut down BioWare—the iconic studio behind Baldur's Gate, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Dragon Age, and Mass Effect. With this single decision, EA has abruptly fired passionate developers and completely cancelled the  next entry in the Mass Effect franchise.

For over 30 years, BioWare hasn't just built video games; they built universes. They taught us what it means to lead a crew, explore the unknown, and make choices that define who we are. Commander Shepard, the Normandy, and the rich storytelling of the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies represent the absolute pinnacle of science fiction in gaming history.

To pull the plug on Mass Effect 5 while it is still in development is a betrayal of millions of loyal fans who have supported these franchises for decades. We cannot sit by and watch corporate restructuring erase 30 years of cultural gaming history.

By signing this petition, we demand that Electronic Arts:

1) Reverse the decision to dissolve BioWare and protect the jobs of the incredibly talented narrative designers, artists, and engineers who poured their hearts into these worlds.
2) Reinstate development on the next Mass Effect title, ensuring it receives the budget, time, and creative freedom it deserves.
3) Explore alternative paths for the studio’s survival—if EA refuses to fund BioWare, we demand they allow the studio, its intellectual property
