The issue we’re raising is gaining significant traction, and the call for accountability is being heard. 

The petition is drawing growing media attention in the Netherlands, and our collective voice is helping bring the human rights violations in Kenya to the forefront. This is not just about canceling a state visit—this is about making a powerful statement that human rights must be central to our foreign relations.

Two of the key goals we are setting forth for this movement are:

1. A Symbolic Gesture from the Dutch Royal Family or Government:

We are pushing for a public statement from the Dutch government—something more than just a “behind-closed-doors”, or “official-website-style” response. We need the Dutch government to acknowledge these violations openly and take a strong stand.

2. Engagement with Civil Society and Local Communities:

It is crucial that the Dutch delegation engage directly with civil society organizations, activists, and members of the Kenyan community. This will ensure that diverse voices are heard. Only through such engagement can we hope to address the full scope of the issues at hand and respect the agency of the Kenyan people.

Together, we are successfully putting human rights violations on the agenda, and ensuring that this critical issue gets the attention it deserves. As mentioned from the beginning, the petition signatures are being compiled and will be presented directly to the Dutch government, amplifying our call for accountability and action.
