Residents near Westbay Mall are being seriously disturbed by a rooftop bar that is too close to homes and schools. Loud music, late-night crowds, and constant noise are robbing families of their peace, sleep, and quiet enjoyment of their homes.

This is not just an inconvenience, it is a violation of our constitutional right to a clean, healthy, and peaceful environment (Article 42, Constitution of Kenya). Children in nearby schools are also affected, as noise disrupts learning and wellbeing, and the bar may not comply with legal restrictions requiring a minimum distance of 300 metres from schools.

We call on the Kiambu County Government to:

• Stop or suspend the bar if it is non-compliant with liquor licensing, planning, and environmental laws.
• Investigate and enforce regulations to protect residents and schools from ongoing noise and disturbance.
• Prioritize the safety, peace, and health of the community over commercial interests.
