Petition against the rezoning of commercial land at Saylesville and River Road.

The Issue

The proposed land use amendment  would change the current zoning from B-5 Community Business District to RM-3 Multi-Family Residential District (High Density Residential Use). It is on the February 17th Common Council agenda. 

If passed there is a 72 unit 3 story apartment complex proposal to be built at this location. This will negatively impact the traffic flow at the intersection and Rapids Trail Road. The apartment complex will be at the highest point of the River Crossing subdivision and be the first thing residents see. The complex will bring an urban look which will be out of place with current residential rural appearance.

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge the Common Council to act now to vote NO on the re-zoning to RM-3 Multi-Family Residential District (High Density Residential Use).
