-Petition Against the Deportation of Gatluak Buom Pal-

This petition is being put together by the Nuer community in the United States of America.

We urgently call upon the Australian Department of Home Affairs to reconsider the potential deportation of Gatluak Buom Pal to Ethiopia. This decision, based on unfounded allegations from the Anyuak community and endorsed by Omod Ojulu, the regional president of Gambella, threatens the life of an innocent man.

Mr. Ojulu, who is of Anyuak descent, has been accused of exploiting his political position to incite tribal conflicts against the Nuer people in Gambella. There are claims that he and other Anyuak members have publicly boasted on social media about their intent to capture and execute Gatluak Buom Pal as a punitive measure.

The repercussions of this action are far-reaching, affecting not only the Naath and Nuer communities within Ethiopia but also those spread across Australia, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the broader African continent. The Nuer Community is deeply troubled by the prospect of Mr. Pal’s deportation.

The stakes are high: the life of Gatluak Buom Pal, a respected son, father, husband, and leader to countless Nuer people and Ethiopians, hangs in the balance. His deportation could potentially ignite a full-scale civil conflict between the Anyuak and the Nuer tribes.

If deported, he faces a premeditated execution orchestrated by Omod Ojulu, who has a history of directing paramilitary attacks against innocent Nuer civilians.
