This petition is against Rock Ridge subdivision due to traffic safety. This subdivision is to be built in an area that cannot handle the amount of traffic flow that is being purposed. Therefore, we, the surrounding neighbors and citizens that use this route daily are against this development. Provided below are our concerns. 

Concerns to be considered:

• There are railroad tracks that cut through this road with no safety signals at this time, only a warning sign.
• The road does not have a shoulder area for traffic to pull over. 
• There is no sidewalk for pedestrian traffic (kids riding bicycles, scooters, runners, etc.) 
• This area is an area that floods often, and traffic has to be rerouted to a different roadway that is also dangerous. 
• High traffic volumes flow through Highway 47, and this subdivision would increase that traffic, possibly causing an increase in accidents. 
• The intersection on Old County Farm Road and Highway 47 has no traffic signal for turning left or right so this is not suitable for the added volume of traffic. 
• Traffic flowing from Rock Road and turning left on Highway V is extremely dangerous at present time related to current residents rerouting to avoid Highway 47 traffic and the jail/police traffic. 

By signing this petition, we are against this development for the safety of the residents that use these routes daily. The safety of the residents that have already established life here should be the number one priority for the City of Union.
