A couple of items to update today.

1- We have not seen a lot of emails going to the premiers office (for those who have MANY THANKS it really helps). We REALLY need you to spend 5 minutes of your time, it is WELL worth it, all the squeaky wheel stuff is critical at this time.

2 - We met with someone who is very familiar with the ministry and municipal planning teams. This person was super helpful but in effect told us that while there are some technical issues with the proposal, if they can address those issues, this proposal will likely be approved.  This was very disheartening to hear. Our question was what can we do then. And we were told, the only way to get what we believe is the right answer is to get the politicians involved - they are elected by us, and that is the only way to get our voices listened to.. So...please act on #1 now - PLEASE this is urgent.

3. We have a new facebook page. The link is below. Please request access and we'll keep you up to date on activities and events. If you can't find it do a search for "Concerned residents of West Hill, Centennial and West Rouge"

Finally, getting back to the URGENT request. Please send an email to Premier Doug Ford, and copy his chief of staff - and state your concerns with this proposal being flopped in the middle of our neighbourhood. I know you may think you have already done it (do it again), and you may think it will not help (it will). We need thousands of emails (or calls) into his office if we have ANY chance of overturning this before it is approved.

Below I've included a sample letter you may use or you may choose your own words, but please do this today (even if you have already)...We are getting close to this process being approved, and we need to make noise to get this stopped.

Dear Premier Ford,

I am writing to you with a concern regarding my strong opposition to a request for an environmental approval for a very large biogas facility at 633 Coronation Drive in Scarborough.

This facility is situated close to Lake Ontario and will more than double the number of large trucks daily going through our residential neighbourhoods. (It is more than 6 Km to the nearest 400 series highway) (adding over 200 truck trips per day 7/24)

The current proposal will add significant dangerous emissions to a part of Scarborough that is already one of the most heavily toxic parts of Toronto (according to City of Toronto report in 2017). It will add trucks 7/24 when we currently have peace and tranquility in our sleeping hours. It will add significant odours to our old tree lined neighbourhoods.

In your pre-election 'Plan for the people' you stated:

"We're going to replace Kathleen Wynne and the Liberals with a practical, affordable and responsible government that trusts and respects you. Ontario is ready for a government that works for the people"

Well Premier Ford, we elected you, please respect us....Please get back to me and let me know what you are going to do with this facility, it does not belong in the middle of a residential neighbourhood. I urge you to visit this neighbourhood, particularly in the evening or on the weekends, it is not a 7/24 industrial park, it is a residential community.

*** End of body of a suggested letter *******

Please do this letter (or your own words) right now, your action is needed, it really is!

If you want to add additional pressure please call the premiers office at 416-325-1941 to stress your concerns as well as his chief of staff (James Wallace) at 416-325-7635.

Many thanks - another update coming shortly.
