It's time for an update on our collective fight to stop a hazardous and noisy facility proposed on Coronation Drive.

What we need you to do immediately!

We need you to write a letter to Premier Ford, and copy the Environment Minister and this petition email address (so we can track the responses). (Even if you have already written a letter, which we thank you, please do another one right now).

Below is a sample letter that you can cut and paste and email (or we would prefer if you can, adjust it to say what you really want to say.). We also encourage you to call the Premiers office (416-325-1941) and state your objections.

Dear Premier Ford, Minister Yurek and Minister Thanigasalam;

As an Ontario taxpayer, resident, voter and individual who lives and plays in the Rouge Hill neighbourhood, I am writing to you today to strongly oppose a proposal requesting environmental approval for a large waste processing and biogas facility at 633 Coronation Drive.

This facility will create significant toxic emissions in our quiet residential area (some of these emissions will exceed environmental limits by over 300%), will add over 200 LARGE truck trips per day through our quiet streets, past our schools, homes and parks. Will add noise and odours never before experienced in our residential areas.

Please live up to your election night comment when you stated "My friends, I am so proud. So proud of the incredible team that you have sent to Queen’s Park: a team of all-stars that will work for you, a team that will always put you first"

Please listen to us the residents/visitors/voters/parents/friends of the Rouge Hill Community when we say this facility, that would be the largest of its kind in Canada, has no place in the middle of our residential community.

Sincerely - Name

Thank you all in advance…it will only take 5 minutes to do that…it will make a huge difference, please get everyone you know to do the same…We are not being listened to right now and our concerns are not being heard.

Finally, a further update will be coming soon, but it should be noted that the proponent has provided a new acoustic report, which basically concludes that despite adding over 200 large truck runs per day round the clock, significant new 7/24 noises coming from this proposal, there will be no impact on anyone in the neighbourhood.

While we have not fully evaluated this report, a brief review shows several significant flaws and errors. We will be providing you a review shortly. In the meantime, you can get a cope of this report at: Environmental Registry Office.  If anyone has specific knowledge of acoustic assessments please contact us at westhillhealth@gmail.com - to help us deconstruct this document.

Additionally, the ministry has reopened comments on this proposal until Oct 10, 2020. You can comment on the proposal at:  Environmental Registry Office

Thanks for helping, please send that email to the premier (premier@ontario.ca)  right now, get everyone  you know to do the same, and please call (416-325-1941) and let the Premier know your thoughts as well.

Thank you all….Steve
