We, the undersigned, are residents of the Ballysillan and surrounding areas. We are writing to express our concern and objection to the handling of planning application LA04/2023/2310/F, which resulted in the construction of a 17.5m telecommunications mast at 423 Ballysillan Road.

Our key concerns are:

Lack of proper neighbour notification and community consultation
Misinformation given to residents by the council
Misleading and incorrect details in the application (e.g. proximity to school marked as “N/A”)
The mast’s unsafe proximity to Belfast Boys’ Model School, local shops, and youth gathering areas
Absence of required public safety signage or barriers
We are asking Belfast City Council to fully investigate how this application was handled, and to review procedures to prevent similar issues in the future.
