We are starting this petition to express our concerns over the casting of Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape in the upcoming Harry Potter HBO series. While we acknowledge Paapa Essiedu’s talent and respect his work as an actor, we feel that he is not the right fit for the role of Severus Snape, a character famously portrayed by the late Alan Rickman in the original films.
