We have received multiple reports regarding inappropriate and unacceptable behaviors by certain embassy officials towards Nigerian female students studying in Russia, both on scholarship and privately.

These officials are accused of harassing, manipulating, and deceiving young, vulnerable students. Each year, new students arrive and are reportedly subjected to this mistreatment. Disturbingly, these young women are often the same age as the officials' own children, yet such conduct persists unchecked.

There have been reports of officials threatening to withhold students' passports and even when they need help in regards to school issues , forcefully engaging with them, and violating their fundamental human rights.

We urgently call on the Nigerian government to establish a commission to investigate these allegations thoroughly. All current and former embassy staff who have served at the Nigerian Embassy in Russia should be subject to investigation.

If no action is taken, we will be compelled to release evidence, including screenshots and other disturbing communications, between these officials and the victims of their misconduct. These young women have been subjected to unacceptable abuse and exploitation, and their voices must be heard.

We trust that this matter will be handled with the seriousness it deserves.
