Silk is a British television drama series produced by the BBC and first shown in 2011. The series follows a set of barristers, and what they do to attain the rank of Queen's Counsel, known as "taking silk." The series interest both young and old viewers

They have an amazing cast line up with well known figures and up and coming. Maxine Peake Rupert Penry-Jones Neil Stuke Alex Jennings John MacMillan Theo Barklem-Biggs Frances Barber Amy Wren Miranda Raison Jessica Henwick.

The first series averaged 5.85 million viewers.

The second series averaged 5.74 million viewers and also nominated for a BAFTA

Silk third series was watched by 4.7 million viewers, a 19.4% share, between 9pm and 10pm, against 4.9 million (20.4%) taken in by DCI Banks, starring Stephen Tompkinson. DCI banks was in its final episodes and viewers wanted to see the conclusion.

Had silk started a week later and that if BBC 1 had +1 these figures would of beaten ITV. Come on Pete save Silk and write another series!
